Important Info Re Your Upcoming Appointment

Dear Patient,

We look forward to seeing you back in the office for your upcoming appointment. While you will still be greeted and treated by the same friendly faces, I am sure it will be no surprise to you that due to Covid-19, some things will be a bit different. These changes have been put into place to provide you and our staff with the peace of mind that we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all of us while still providing you, the patient, with the highest levels of dental care you have come to know and expect from our team. We would therefore ask you to please note the following:

Please bring with you to your appointment:

  • A MASK. A medical or simple fabric mask will suffice. Please click here for more information on how to properly put on (don) and take off (doff) a mask. You will be required to wear the mask the entire time you are in our office, with the exception of course being while your dental work is actually being performed.
  • PLEASE do NOT wear:
    • A mask with a valve. These only protect the wearer and do nothing to protect others;
    • A neck gaiter or bandana. These have been proven to be ineffective.
    • A plastic face shield, unless it is worn in addition to a proper mask.

PLEASE NOTE THAT NON-MASKED INDIVIDUALS OR PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT WEARING AN APPROPRIATE MASK THAT IS FULLY COVERING BOTH THEIR NOSE AND MOUTH WILL NOT BE PERMITTED INTO THE OFFICE. The ONLY exception to this rule is children ages two and under.
  • A pair of GLASSES to protect your eyes. These can be your normal, everyday vision glasses or a pair of sunglasses.
  • A SWEATER or JACKET.  You may want to dress in layers… Please note that our office will be colder than usual for our staff to help them stay cooler in that they are required to wear significantly more Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) than usual.

Before heading to our office for your appointment, please use the washroom at your home as there will be no washroom available to patients, other than for unavoidable emergency situations.

Please leave as many of your personal belongings at home as possible. The less you come with, the better.

You will be required to complete a fairly brief Covid-19 screening questionnaire within one hour of your appointment. Please note that the requirement to be screened twice is a regulation set forth by the Royal College of Dentists Surgeons of Ontario. We thank-you for your understanding and patience which in turn enables us to not only comply with this College requirement, but to also do everything in our power to keep our patients, staff and our families safe during these challenging times.

You have two options to choose from as to how to do this:

  1. Complete the screening form yourself on your smartphone or computer by selecting the appropriate link on this page of our website. Or, when still outside our office doors, you can use the QR codes we have posted so you can easily navigate your way to the questionnaire that way as well.
  2. Have one of our staff members ask you the questions by telephone. You can call our office at 519-759-0049 to review the questionnaire with one of us.

When you arrive at our office building, please let us know by either calling or texting us (see numbers below). We would ask that you please wait outside or in your car until we ask you to come into our office so that we can minimize the number of people in our office at all times as much as possible.

For those who require a companion, please let us know ahead of time so we can obtain the companion’s information. Also, please note that all companions will also have to be screened prior to entering the office and must wear a mask of their own the entire time they are in the office. Please be aware that unless a companion is absolutely necessary, we will require all others who may have accompanied a patient to wait outside. Those who might require a companion include children under the age of three years old, our elderly patients or individuals with developmental or cognitive challenges. Our staff would be happy to come outside to get younger children.

Should you experience any Covid-19 symptoms within the 14 days after visiting our office, please notify our office immediately upon onset of these symptoms.

To review how to properly sanitize your hands, familiarize yourself with our office’s Covid-19 Guidelines, as well as obtain other helpful tips and information about “the new normal” in our office, please visit this page on our website, and of course, don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or concerns:
